Building A Safe, Resilient & Prosperous Sabah Community

Pusat ASASI is a resource center for Community Security and Human Rights based in Sabah providing information management, empowerment and professional services and assistance for community development and resilience.

The organisation’s objective is to develop and sustain an informed, resilient and peaceful community in Sabah free from violence, fear and insecurity.  

We primarily focus on the concept of community security including crime, violent extremism, conflict and natural disaster  as well as the 7 pillars of human security and community level solution. ASASI also empowers youth participation in isolated areas with various programs focusing on socio economic aspiration and leadership skills.  

We recognise the importance to strengthen community security and social cohesion in a multi-sectoral and cross-cutting manner, informed by a clear understanding of the drivers and causes of  all form of community insecurity and threats. 

Our philosophy is to be systematic and professionally manage multi-party and multi-level effort with clear methodology and process AND  Guided by the principles of burden sharing and social solidarity as well as other international human rights and human security principles to achieve our objectives

    We work to build social solidarity and socio-economic development and resilience among communities through professional services, community empowerment and stakeholder engagement. 

We aim to establish a self-determined and united network of communities that embarks:

  •  In preventing crime and all form of community insecurities and threat

  •  In building peace, conflict resolution and intervention to all form of insecurity and threats 

  • In protecting the rights and interests of vulnerable community and victims of insecurity

  • In strengthening community resilience to all form of insecurity and threat 

  • In resisting all misinformation, propaganda and negative social economic elements

  • In providing credible and objective public interest information to all members of community

  • In creating social and economic opportunities in community

  • In improving community infrastructure and facilities with multi-party collaboration

  • In systematic threat monitoring and community dialogues with all relevant stakeholders

  • In smart partnership projects with communities, civil societies and relevant authorities and agencies to achieve all the above
