Roundtable On Preventing & Countering Violent Extremism
ASASI as an outcome to its community engagement and community policing work to prevent and counter violent extremism, held a two day multi stakeholder roundtable to discuss the various security issues especially on militancy and violent extremist groups operating at the border region of Sabah.
The roundtable was officiated by the Former Director of ESSCOM Datuk Nadzer and attended by The Royal Malaysian Police (E8 Unit), Maritime Malaysia, Sabah Parks, ESSCOM and The National Human Rights Commission. The roundtable set forth a long term plan of action for AASI and its collaborative work in Sabah on community security especially on the prevention and countering of violent extremism and militancy
